Best Brunch in Los Angeles: Where to Book This Weekend

Brunch in Los Angeles runs long. Many places serve it every day, not just on weekends, and the food leans on California produce, good bread and plenty of eggs. This list covers five places we would send a visitor to, from a French bakery on La Brea to a breakfast counter in Grand Central Market. We checked hours on each restaurant’s site in October 2026. Hours change, so confirm before you go, and book where reservations are offered.

The list

République (Mid-City)

République is a French-inspired bakery, cafe and restaurant at 624 S La Brea Ave. It serves breakfast and brunch every day from 8am to 2pm, and dinner Tuesday to Saturday. Pastry chef Margarita Manzke won the 2024 James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker, so start with the pastry case. The menu is California-French, with egg dishes, bakery items and salads.

Weekend mornings are busy. The bakery counter moves faster than a table if you just want coffee and a pastry. It is a short drive from LACMA and the museums on Wilshire; see our best museums in Los Angeles.

Sqirl (East Hollywood)

The Los Angeles Times has credited Sqirl, at 720 N Virgil Ave, with redefining brunch in the city. It is known for dishes such as its sorrel pesto rice bowl and thick toast with house jam. It is open for daytime service every day from 8am to 4pm. In 2026 it also started serving dinner, with reservations on Resy. Expect a line on weekend mornings. It is close to Silver Lake and Los Feliz; see our neighborhood guide.

Little Dom’s (Los Feliz)

Little Dom’s at 2128 Hillhurst Ave is an Italian-American restaurant in Los Feliz with a weekend brunch from 9am to 3pm. On weekdays it serves the menu at the counter from 10am to 4pm, with the full menu and bar. It works well before or after a morning at Griffith Park or the observatory. See our Griffith Park guide and Griffith Observatory guide.

Farmshop (Brentwood)

Farmshop is a restaurant and market in the Brentwood Country Mart, a red-board shopping center that opened in 1948. The bakery and market open at 7am, and the restaurant opens for brunch at 9am. The menu is California-inspired and built around produce from local farms. Browse the market for cheese, chocolate and wine after you eat. It is a short drive from the Getty Center; see our Getty Center guide.

Eggslut (Downtown)

Eggslut, founded in 2011, is a breakfast sandwich counter with a stand in Grand Central Market. Sandwiches come on warm brioche buns, and the namesake dish is a coddled egg on potato purée, cooked in a glass jar and served with baguette slices. It is counter service, so it suits a quick breakfast before sightseeing. Grand Central Market has many other stalls if your group wants different things. See our Downtown Los Angeles guide.

How to plan brunch in LA

Brunch tips

  • Book ahead for weekend tables where reservations are offered.
  • Go early. The first hour is the easiest time to get in without a wait.
  • Try a weekday. Several places serve brunch or breakfast menus every day.
  • Leave time for parking. Street parking near popular spots fills up on weekends.
  • Check the menu online before you go. Brunch menus change with the seasons.

Pair brunch with a plan

Brunch works best when it is near what you are doing next:

  • Museums: République on La Brea is close to Museum Row on Wilshire.
  • Griffith Park: Little Dom’s and Sqirl are near Los Feliz and Silver Lake.
  • The Getty and the beach: Farmshop in Brentwood is between the two.
  • Downtown: Eggslut at Grand Central Market is near The Broad and Angels Flight.

Our 3-day Los Angeles itinerary uses this kind of grouping.

What to expect

Brunch in Los Angeles is casual. Shorts and sneakers are fine almost everywhere. Lines are common on weekends, especially at places without reservations. Many restaurants have outdoor seating, which is pleasant most of the year; on May and June mornings near the coast it can be cool and gray, so bring a layer. See our best time to visit Los Angeles for the weather.

Prices vary a lot between a counter like Eggslut and a sit-down restaurant like République. Check each menu online for current prices.

Getting there

Driving or rideshare is the easiest way to reach most of these. Parking differs at each one, so check the restaurant’s site and allow extra time on weekends, when nearby streets fill up. Farmshop is in the Brentwood Country Mart, which has its own parking lot. Eggslut is the one place on this list that is easy by train: Grand Central Market is a short walk from Pershing Square station on the B and D Lines and Historic Broadway station on the A and E Lines. See our LA Metro guide for fares.

Dietary needs

Most brunch menus in Los Angeles have vegetarian dishes, and many can adjust for other needs. Eggslut, for example, lets you swap bread for salad on any sandwich. If you have an allergy, call ahead or check the menu online, since kitchens and menus change often.
